Everything Old Is New Again by Sylvia Barnes

Features

ARTIST NOTES: Melbourne's heritage "W" Class Tram serves the City Tram Route 35. In its distinctive maroon, green and gold livery it travels around the City Circle tram route past many of Melbourne historic icons. The service is free, passengers and visors are able to hop on and off when they please. This art work is set with heritage tram 888 at Flinders Street Tram Steps outside Flinders Street Train Station. The "W" Trams were made at Preston Workshops from 1920 while the construction on Flinders Street Railway Station commenced in 1905. These two heritage icons mingle well with today's modern society and are part of Melbourne's every day life.

ARTIST BIO

After retiring from the full-time work force I have been able to pursue my love of art and in particular painting.  There is great pleasure in visiting the many and diverse art galleries in Melbourne.

I have completed three years studying, practicing and pursuing my passion in visual arts at the CAE in Melbourne.  Although my major interest is painting I also enjoy printmaking with wood engraving and lino plates.

Recent submissions to several art shows and exhibitions have been well received and have influenced my choice of current and future works.  I enjoy depicting scenes in every day life while out and about and in  my neighbourhood.

I look forward to submitting my art works for the pleasure of fellow art lovers and receiving constructive criticism.
