Features

ARTIST NOTES: About the artwork Original hand painted abstract art. Layers of acrylic paint applied using a brush. Some areas are thicker than others to created texture. All of the canvas has a dab applied filling all the space. The image itself shows lots of small flowers. Reminds me of the flowers I would see in spring in my parents garden or on a flowering tree or shrub as I walked through the beautiful parks in Melbourne. Sometimes the photos do not do the painting justice. Love this painting, love the effect. Colours may appear slightly different than in real life, depending on your device resolution. ARTIST BIO

Born in Melbourne I have always had the dream of producing art. Working in the corporate world for over 30 years my passion has taken hold and even though part-time I am now doing what I love to do – create art.

Since starting I have concentrated on abstract art, experimenting with techniques, styles and colours.  Trying the various techniques and merging them together to create that original piece.  As I grew as an artist I felt I needed to do more with the paintings I was producing , always felt like they weren't quite complete, that's when I started the line work. Using brush strokes, drips and different techniques to create the base image with acrylic paint I then had to do the detailed line work. Following the lines I had already created with the paint, adding detail within each gap and space. Realising, in the end that I was a maximalist artist. Filling all spaces on the canvas with colour, lines and detail. Knowing when to stop can be the hard part. Love how my style has change and developed. I feel like I have found my little space in the world of art.  I love to paint with an idea in my head and then see it come to life on the canvas, at times the painting morphs into something completely different and better than I could have imagined. With each new painting I create it helps me imagine the next unique piece of art and how it will develop into something special.

I have sold my pieces to private collectors both in Australia and Overseas. Working with clients to create customised pieces specifically for their needs in boutique BnBs and resort accommodation.
