Donna Lynch lives in Aberfeldie and gains her inspiration from the scenes she encounters as part of everyday life. Her work covers many subjects from portraits of people and animals, to bustling city scenes and tranquil land and seascapes.
Donna loved to draw as a child and has fond memories of winning a junior art prize at the local fete. Painting took a backseat for many years as she worked and raised her family. During this time she enjoyed other creative pastimes including knitting, cooking, gardening and decorative art.
As soon as time allowed, Donna enrolled in art classes with renowned local artist, Gwendoline Krumins. She studied and painted with Gwen and friends for many years. Her specialty is oil painting although she enjoys watercolour and of course pencil drawing. Donna has sold several paintings. Each piece is a memory of a special moment and place in her life, lovingly and painstakingly recorded to share. She hopes her works move the art lover to feel the mood or simply spark joy.
Donna continues to hone her techniques through practice and lessons. She has been fortunate to have travelled to many beautiful countries and visit some amazing galleries. Most of her inspiration though, continues to be drawn from her everyday life and the vibrant colours of our brilliant Australian landscape. |
