ARTIST NOTES: This piece was inspired by the way the light travelled across the peacock’s back, changing the texture and the iridescence of the feathers as it went. I have used metallic paint to provide the experience of the colours changing in different light as you view the work from different angles. The background and feet are deliberately rough to contrast with the way the peacock’s face and plumage pulls the eye.
