ARTIST NOTES: Warbles, whistling, trills and laughter. In the haven of my home, hearing the calls of native birds is something that rejuvenates and fills my soul with joy. Using pen and ink, I bring these feathered moments to life, connecting memories of my childhood to the present day from the swoop of a magpie in Castlemaine to the flitter of a honeyeater on the Mildura riverbank. Through a soft tonal palette with pops of colour, these works celebrate our native birds and their natural environments of blossoms, eucalyptus and Mallee grasses.
This artwork has been professionally framed in raw timber with a 5cm chalk mat.
