People often question the inspiration for abstract art. My art (which is currently acrylic & indeed most art) expresses the inexplicable, sometimes using story, which is often told via collage. At other times I simply use colour, texture, depth etc. I have a great passion for these & am also constantly experimenting with all of them. These loves of colour, texture, depth & experimentation are evident everywhere in my art. I explore with mixed media constantly also.
At the moment, I usually develop the individual paintings via layering. I allow the work to develop itself to a degree where it speaks to me of its general identity and I take the helm from there. All I can ask is that my art evokes a great response (of any sort) in others.
On a More Personal Note:
I am Australian & loving it!! I was born in the beautiful city of Perth, Western Australia, but partially brought up in Melbourne, Victoria. Thus I have a flavour of both the cosmopolitan and casual in me I! I am a strong Christian and it is mainly this that drives and directs my art. I have spent some years in Christian communities and NGOs, where I developed a love and appreciation for every nuance of other cultures and people groups. I find other cultures (especially as Australia is multi-cultural, yet doesn't really have an ingrained culture of its own) SO interesting. All totally fascinating (to me anyway. lol)!!
I now live in Sydney, Australia, married & attend my church at GGClife.com in 5 Dock - (now streaming & on facebook) NSW. I have 2 daughters attending university doing different medical degrees. SO proud!!
My main purpose in life is to make a relationship with Jesus available to all. Such joy!! How my art helps with this, is yet to be seen!
